Club Villain At Disney’s Hollywood Studios Granted A Second Life.

How can we tell if a special event at Walt Disney World has been deemed successful? Well, an extension of dates and a price increase seems like the perfect validation. This certainly appears to be the case with Club Villain at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Disney has previously announced that the price would increase from $99 to $129. We now have word that reservations for this unique experience – which includes dining and a show – has been extended into April and May. Club Villain will take place these two months every Saturday. There will be two different showtimes – 5:45 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

What’s exactly is Club Villain?

Club Villain is a ticketed event – meaning that the price is in addition to park admission – that is held in the newly constructed Sunset Showcase. During the event, Guests  can enjoy delicious cocktails from the Potions Bar and savor delights with a New Orleans flair. Dishes will include beef striploin rubbed with herbes de Provence, Voodoo sticky “pig wings” with citrus gremolata and spicy shrimp sautéed with Andouille sausage, tomato, okra and onions over creamy polenta. It’s important to note that seating for this event will be banquet style, so you may be seated with other guests, depending on your party’s size.

However, food isn’t the main draw, as the event will also feature stage-show numbers, a club DJ and up-close encounters with some of your favorite villain diva, including Maleficent, Queen of Hearts, Evil Queen, and Cruella De Vil.

Is FastPass+ For Wishes Fireworks At Magic Kingdom Going Away?

In what we consider to be a surprising move, Disney is removing the option to choose a FastPass+ for Wishes Fireworks at Magic Kingdom. The change is effective April 19, 2016.

Disney created two FastPass+ viewing locations for Wishes Fireworks last year as a part of the redesigned Central Park and hub area. These are located in the faux grass areas on either side of Main Street and have proven to be popular with Guests as somewhere to stretch out and relax.

At this point there is no clear indication why the FastPass+ option is being removed. The question remains – is this a temporary move, or will it be altered in some manor? We’ll continue to follow up as more details become available.

Walt Disney World Testing A Premium Parking Option.

From March 15-17, 2016, Walt Disney World is testing an option where visitors can pay more for parking in order to get a spot closer to theme-park entrances. The current test is only taking place at Magic Kingdom and Epcot. For $15 above the regular parking fee – which is currently $20 – guests driving to these two theme parks will be granted access to a premium parking area.

Magic Kingdom preferred parking is in the Jafar section of the lot, while Epcot preferred parkers go to the Amaze area. It’s important to note that visitors to the Magic Kingdom who pay for premium parking, must still go to the Ticket & Transportation Center via foot or tram, and then take the monorail or boat to the entrance of the theme park. The premium parking only makes is a shorter walk or tram ride to the Ticket & Transportation Center.

Guests who are staying in Disney resort hotels receive free theme park parking, but can pay $15 for the closer spots as well. Annual pass holders who have parking included in their pass will also have this option.

The test is not affecting handicapped parking slots at Magic Kingdom and Epcot.

Three New Meet-And-Greets Are Coming To Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Disney has announced that three new meet-and-greet opportunities will soon be coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. One in particular will surely create a sensation, as it will be the first true meet-and-greet for Olaf from Disney’s Frozen.

An exact date has yet to be announced, but expect to see Olaf arrive at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Spring 2016. Olaf will meet-and-greet guests in a brand new location called Celebrity Spotlight, built across from Star Tours in the Echo Lake District.

Olaf may be the cool new character, but Mickey and Minnie have no intentions of being overshadowed, as they’ll be receiving their own glitzy new meet-and-greet space. Here’s the details according to Disney:

Also opening this spring is “Mickey and Minnie Starring in Red Carpet Dreams,” located just off Commissary Lane near the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant, where Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will live out their dreams of being A-list Hollywood stars. You’ll walk the red carpet and step into a scene with Minnie, where she appears as a Tinsel Town starlet in a ritzy setting straight out of a lush and colorful musical extravaganza. Nearby, you will find Mickey portraying his iconic role of the Sorcerer’s Apprentice from “Fantasia.”
